if i create a new file, and try to go to it, the server gives a 404 error. I am sure i have put the file in the correct place and spelled it correctly. All the files that i added before the migration from cpanel are still accessible, but with directadmin new files added do not show up.

file's location: /public_html/col/yee.html
page it should be hosted on: pinguincheese.tk/col/yee.html

any help would be appreciated!

try to access it on http://pinguincheese.tk/col/yee.html
sadly can't do this if you implement Cloudflare HSTS setting on SSL tabs.

There's an option on DirectAdmin to access different folder depending on which protocol it access http and https differs or same for both.

Check this first DirectAdmin > Account Manager" > "Domain Setup" then click pinguincheese.tk.
Find private_html setup and take a look which one is in use:

  • "use a directory name private_html" Go to File Manager > Domains > pinguincheese.tk > there shoud be a folder public_html and private _html.
  • "symbolink between private_htmp and public_html to be the same" Same as above just the private_html is same with public_html be sure before selecting this verifiy first where is your hosted files.

How are you uploading? If you do it by ftp, what are you using as host?
You are now on a new server, with a new IP, so you need to update the .tk domain with the new server IP, if you haven't already.

I am using DirectAdmin's built in file manager.

I am using NS records for the .tk domain, so wouldn't it automatically update the ip?

It does seem that you use the cloudflare nameservers, so no those would not update automatically since there is no integration between DirectAdmin and Cloudflare.

Something no one caught yet apparently,
I tried to visit http://pinguincheese.tk/col/yee.html
here is what i got:
Error 1000 Ray ID: 561779147e36ab76 • 2020-02-07 18:37:04 UTC
DNS points to prohibited IP

What happened?
You've requested a page on a website (pinguincheese.tk) that is on the Cloudflare network. Unfortunately, it is resolving to an IP address that is creating a conflict within Cloudflare's system.

i was trying to change it to a different ip but i accidentally set it to a cloudflare ip while you were looking at it apparently, that is unrelated to the issue

i set the NS records back to x10hosting's but now when going to pinguincheese.tk it just says 'Apache is functioning normally'
