Jetpack on Wordpress

When I try to connect Jetpack to my wordpress, it returns the error
Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible

When I try to navigate to the file that makes it accessible, http://leftitup.com/xmlrpc.php, it returns the error:
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

How can I fix this?

Hi,

Does Automattic tell you what status code it is receiving? Perhaps our spam blacklists are catching the request somehow.
