I installed Joomla once already, but deleted it because of a small mistake a made when I was placing the files in my website.

Anyway, the 2nd time around whilst installing I came across an error. I had gone maybe 3 steps into the installation process (all was good), walked away for maybe 30-60 mins, and then I came across an error when I tried to continue.

I experienced the same error when I reuploaded the files again, and cannot get around it:

Warning: session_write_close() [function.session-write-close]: write failed: No space left on device (28) in /home/[INTENTIONALLY HIDDEN]/public_html/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 556

Warning: session_write_close() [function.session-write-close]: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct () in /home/[INTENTIONALLY HIDDEN]/public_html/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 556

This website is new, and I definite have enough space. Thank you

Even after you uninstalled, some components are left there. First delete all files of Joomla and then try to reinstall it.

@snshusat

I basically removed everything from the public_html folder. I even checked for hidden files. Everything was gone good sir.

@gsonline

Yes and I restarted/reuploaded the Joomla files several times. Each time the error came up first thing rather than 3-4 steps in.

@vigge_sWe

Hopefully if this is the problem it is rectified posthaste. ;)

Thank you everyone. I'm going to give it another shot shortly.

You shouldn't be deleting everything from the public_html folder.

The files are there for a purpose.

You should keep the cgi-bin, _vti* folders, .htaccess file

cgi-bin is useful when you are using the cgi scripts

_vti folders are a necessary part of the FrontPage Server Extension.

.htaccess is to allow per-directory access control

index.html --> This you can replace with yours.
