Hello X10Hosting moderators.

I'd firstly like to apologize in advance if this ticket has been submitted in the wrong area, as well as thank X10 for their otherwise reliable hosting services if so.

Representing the small community of scholars, content creators and political analysts that is LemonLimeChan, I - and our bulletinboard-based community as a whole - have greatly appreciated the X10Hosting experience aforementioned which has constituted over a 18 months of rich social interaction, in jokes, independent webcomics and memories as a whole. To summarize The community, which we have opened to the public since mid-2012, consists of a single PHP/MySQL based place-of-discussion which has has seen years of archived discussion, collaborated projects between its long-distance, and provided general discussion of posters hailing from many fandoms including Homestuck, Off, and other social groups.

After almost 1GB of user constituted content, I am shocked to see a suspension has been placed on our X10 service.

I am unsure why this action has been taken against us.

We have taken every effort to ensure no users breach X10's or our own terms of service as our community is intended to be one of "worksafe" composition, yet are open to discuss any potential flaws in the community format. Although our service has seen spam including that of pornographic and space consuming content, we do not support the sharing of this content through LemonLimeChan or X10, and are unsure why, or if, this problem was detected. Banner advertisements, furthermore, are only jokes, and redirect to internal pages and memorable threads (more recently a series of crudely-drawn "Boycow Bobep" comics by an anonymous poster). No attempts to generate revenue are intended. Left-wing politics are a popular topic of discussion, including gender-roles, welfare-redistribution and cissexualism, yet are monitored for pornographic, pedophilic, or drug-related interests as per terms of service.

Again, I am not certain of why our account was suspended, but emphasize no wrongdoing was intended.

If anyone has any information on the nature or rationale behind this ban, I would deeply appreciate hearing it. My users and I are saddened by the loss of such a large quantity of memorable content, and will work wholeheartedly to a resolution.

Warm regards, fib00t.

As an ominous statement of a "single appeal" hovers over the appeal form, I simply sought some advice in regard to determining why the ban was given in the first place.

I am not a native speaker of english, and have not been able to determine what I was intended to appeal specifically. My above statement was merely to deliver an empathetic plea for help, as I, and LemonLimeChan, are truly saddened to have such a large portion of our lifes removed; fearful of seeing it wiped without backup.

I do not see a hosting account associated with the forum account you are posting from, under what hosting username would the account be operating, we'd need that to be able to check it out.

However, if it is suspended, the proper way would be opening a suspension appeal under the account portal, assuming it is not for inactivity, a suspension which you should be able to unsuspend yourself from through account portal.

Hi, Anna.

I thank you deeply for your support.

Sorry for the confusion, also, surrounding the multiple names - which I hope are allowed, despite an inability to figure out how to combine them - but our domain name is "orangechan.x10.mx", and login "skulguns". The use of the name LemonLimeChan while the domain name says otherwise is an obscure reference to a childhood game we share a connection with, and I can understand the confusion.

To clarify my problem, I have the following message appear when I log in:

Your account was suspended by x10Hosting's administration.
If this is a minor offense you may unsuspend yourself below, if not, an appeal needs to be filed.

Your suspension reason is as follows:
Administrative suspension.

You will need to file an appeal using the below link.

Is there any way I can learn why the domain was suspended, or request backup or another option without wasting my one "appeal" message. There seems to be only one permitted "appeal" per account, and I just can't risk losing so much collective effort and content to a communication problem.

Thanks in advance.

You'd need to file an appeal as suggested on that page, that way you can get the best response, I can not access the servers and do any investigations at this time.

There's a note attached indicating a proxy was present in the account, something that is not allowed as per our ToS
Under section 1, server usage: "Proxies: We do not allow any kind of proxies to be used on our servers, for any reason."

For the record, the associated forum account for that hosting account goes with the name "grangech", using that when logging into forums will help aid us in finding the account.

proxy was present in the account
Thank you so much for this!

I never realized this was an issue, or even present on our servers at all anymore, but there are a few directories containing unused PHProxy experiments separate from the site itself.

You are a lifesaver. I never even thought of checking for this, let alone mentioning it in an appeal. Mentioning how spam and pornography is immediately deleted when/if it appears would just have set off more alarm bells, and not addressed the question in full.

Writing one as we speak. ~fib00t

EDIT: Do you have any tips on wording and whatnot? Is copypasting my first (lengthy) comment a good idea, or will moderators likely just ignore it due to the large wordcount and destroy all content? Do I need a backstory in the appeal at all, or should I just drop an "I don't support proxies" directly? Do I need to prove that statement somehow, or that those files are unrelated to the site? I really just don't want to our files to be destroyed...

Thank you again for your support.

It's not weather they are related to the site or not that is the issue, it is that there was proxy files at all in the account.

I'd try to keep appeal short, consistent and as informative as you see fit, specifically regarding why the proxy was there in the first place, as that may be more efficient.

Normally proxy suspensions are permanent though, so I can not promise anything.
