Fantastico said it un-installed WP but the files remained. Further I can not delete them. Apparently you reset the permissions.

I can not post to this thread as pegngaryubuntu43. I got a message saying so when I tried, saying I do not have permission. Not sure why you would want that anyway.

Thanks for your assistance.

The users can't hijack the others support threads.

That means a user can post in their own thread. This thread is belongs to pegngary84. So the error when you tried to post using pegngaryubuntu43.

2) Did you tried to delete the files using Legacy file manager.

No, still locked out

Warning: require(/home/panamapg/public_html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/panamapg/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 19

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/panamapg/public_html/wp-includes/load.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/panamapg/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 19

Might be because I looked at the account linked with this forum account, and replaced the file in that ccount, which is: garypeg
For trouble with any other account, you need to request support with the forum account that is linked with that account as stated by gsonline. As you noticed you can not reply here with that, so you'd need to start a new thread.

Further more, you should really only have one account...

Is there any problems at all with the account garypeg at this time?

The other account is not one I am using. I had trouble with Wordpress there and could not find any answers or support. After 3 tries with Wordpress I could not install again. So I started this one.

Here is the first one:

Username: garypeg

Here is this one: panamapg

So if I can have just one I prefer the garypeg. I have backed up panamapg so I should be able to restore it but I would like to install WP on and do an automated backup with WP backup. I already backed up the database, so if I can restore that it would save me work. Let me know.

I did not know these two accts were linked.

Thanks

gary

I logged on as pegngaryubuntu43 to see if garypeg.x10.mx could get strahtened out. the reply I got was

"The account with the domain garypeg.x10.mx belongs to a different forum account. Please create a support thread using the correct forum account for support for that domain."

Not sure who is confused about which account goes with which password. I have had two accounts with other services and they were never linked like this so perhaps this is why I am confused.

All hosting accounts should have a linked forum account, which is to be used when requesting support as we can then pull up account information easily by a simple click, it also because of that it is important that you always request support with the correct forum account in case you have more then one forum account.

garypeg (garypeg.x10.mx) is linked to the forum account: pegngary84

panamapg (panamapg.x10.mx) is linked to the forum account: pegngaryubuntu43

The error message you included earlier in this thread indicates that it is the panamapg account you have problems with, hence the confusion here.
Warning: require(/home/panamapg/public_html/wp-includes/load.php)

Did you make that backup through wordpress, or through phpmyadmin?

As for installing WordPress, I'd recommend going to http://wordpress.org and downloading the package from there (which I always recommend over using an automated installer like fantastico or softaculous). Upload all files, create a database and a database user and link those together (easiest here is using the database wizard, make sure to note the password down as you'll need it later). It's rather simple and doesn't take much time: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

You should be able to restore your wordpress into the database afterwards (either through phpmyadmin or through wordpress itself, depending on how the backup was done), though since that was on a different domain it will likely include a little extra work to get functional under the new domain: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress (the section "If you have accidentally changed your
WordPress site URL" would be the one of interest here, as the procedure is the same).

Thanks for the reply, clarifies a lot. I can keep the accounts separated this way.

Would I have to delete the old word press files off the server if I installed WP the recommended way?

I use fantastico as I have had trouble installing WP manually. That was when I first started using the product. Perhaps now I can figure it out.

I did a backup through PHPMyAdmin, that backs up the database. I think the WP program backs up WP files. I moved the panamapg site from another one and I still have that backup, so I know it works. I have not added much since then and I have some of that.

Thanks again

Gary
