I have my comp dual booted with XP and PCLinuxOS. XP ultimate for universal compatibility and number of programs that can run on it. Linux best otherwize.

Windows XP because it's probably the most stable (at least on my computer it is) and it's what I grew up with (Almost)

Linux for its strange abilities to do things that Windows or a Mac can't do. Also I like its use of third-party programs and taking up less resources.

Macintosh I won't even go into. Our school's servers run it which I don't get.

linux and xp

the problem with vista is that there is practically no compatibleity with it so you can barely run the operating system and it has too many code libraries which slows it down

Tried Ubuntu and Mandriva Linux and was not very impressed, Ubuntu needs a lot of work before it becomes a viable alternative to Windows and Mandriva seems to be a bit rubbish on the apps front LOL I couldn't find a suitable alternative to Trillian for it. Never tried Mac or Vista but then again I'm in IT support so there really isn't much call for it since Mac isn't widely used and Vista is still to expensive for most companies to invest.

So for now, it's Windows XP all the way for me.
Edit:
Macintosh 13 22.03%
Windows XP 29 49.15%
Linux 29 49.15%
Windows Vista 14 23.73%

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how a poll can have over 100%???
LOL

Mainly use Ubuntu, also got a few MS Win XP machines.
Its funny, cause there are always problems with the windows computers, yet i have never run into any difficulties when using linux or Mac. Of course, drivers can be a pain, and i still havent gotten my HP Laptop's DVD drive to work under Linux, but it has never crashed etc.

You can vote for more than one of the choices.

I am another Ubuntu users, so far I face no crash no security bleaches not much problem... except when coming to connect to VPN will be a whole new level of understand.

Ubuntu uses much lesser resources compared Windows Vista.I have computer using Windows XP Pro , Windows Vista and Ubuntu so whenever I want to surf the internet I will use Ubuntu.

One think good about Linux system is no need for defragmentation in Windows Vista you need to defrag at least once every 2 days because the file usage is so high that it messed up table very easily.

Hope that linux will be a much easier choice to have more apps support, more user friendly for vpn..

Aha!

So, Most of the users here prefer Linux than Windows. Because Linux doesn't or rarely freeze...

Well, if i would be given i chance ;)
I will develop my own operating system (i would even make a company better than microsoft, apple, etc. :p) I will develop the best OS ever! Hehe (maybe after some 10 years) Lol ;)

Who Knows...

I'm with XP, I think its stupid to jump onto a new OS without letting to bugs be worked out for some time. Also, its great having a computer designed to run Vista, and have it run XP because its so fast. I think I'll eventually go to Vista, but for now I'll wait. Also theres so many programs that I use that aren't supported on a mac.

Uhh... I can't really say which I like the most because I haven't tried them. But I'd like to try a Mac or a Linux sometime... I've heard that Linux's are complicated to use, is it true?

My Windows XP is starting to "fall apart"... it always comes up with some weird boot up text when I start the computer. It's annoying. I don't know if my computer can bare with a Vista, it started overheating after I installed new drivers for my 3d card... luckily I was able to rollback.
