Okay, this is a pretty simple question. I understand illegal files and copyrighted media is not to be uploaded on this server.

Here's the question: I'm a hip-hop artist and I'd like to provide my music either I'm offering freebies, limited time downloads of say, my album or mixtape, or anything that I'm the legal owner of. Am I allowed to upload my own music?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own music, although we are not a file host, so it might be best to upload your music somewhere else then stream it from there. That should make it take up less of your own resources.
