My Latest Design - College Teen Diversity

This is a work-in-progress.

The design is to attract college students. It needs to be user-friendly and contain enough content representing Diversity within the college.

I have chosen a teen, grunge look. Here is my design so far...

Dependant on your resolution, you will see a larger more zoomed out background. I made the image large to be able to nicely accommodate 800x600 to 1600x1200.

Only issues would be loading times for large resi image.

The bg is too large for any type of design. It slows down the page loading tenfold.

How would I have the background image FLUID so it will stretch with different Resolution Screens

First off, the image is fixed. So the the rest of the image is unseen, just wasting bandwidth (near 4 MB!).

Now the bricks in the bottom half of the background image is repeatable. So you can cut it out and use CSS to repeat it.

This would fall under Example #2. They use a 170x170 pixel image to repeat the corkboard all over. The article also contains source code at the end.
