My PHP Version

Hi,

I was wondering if exec() is allowed and allow_url_fopen is On with the basic PHP configuration and if it has mbstring, domxml and xsl extensions.

I was also wondering if the GD Library is compiled with TrueType fonts.

I just noticed that URL_fopen is not allowed with basic configuration. What about the others?

exec() is only available on the advanced PHP version, and it states that you need a VERY good reason for this to be requested. So what script are you trying to install that uses exec()?

exec() must be allowed.

Advanced Configuration would be much appreciated.

It has been 24 hours since I submitted my application for an upgrade and still no response.

The advanced php applications are checked by a admin. So it will take a little time. As said before it has to be a really good reason for Bryon to allow it.

Bryon would probably have to look over the script and make sure there isn't any security holes in it and find out the reasons why it needs certain PHP commands.

Paid hosting elsewhere? The paid hosting here are on separate servers, have less PHP restrictions, etc.

I would think so, but I can't give a solid answer. I am trying to install the software myself and I am on one of the paid servers. So, as soon as I start on it and see if I can get it installed, I'll let ya know how it goes.

It's not what YOU specifically are going to do, exec() is a very dangerous function to allow users to have access to, is all. I haven't talked to him but I would guess a lot of it has to do with the age of your account.

Maybe try applying again and providing a more detailed reason as to why you want it?
