Hi, I believe the migration is now completed, now able to login to directadmin but my site http://speedwayworld.x10host.com/ changes to https://speedwayworld.x10host.com/ & displays a blank page with message;
"Apache is functioning normally" message this seems to be a common issue after migration from cpanel to directadmin.

Do i now wait for this issue to be resolved or is there anything i can do in directadmin btw my site was running wordpress

Thanks

You will need to tell wordpress to not use https (it is not supported on free hosting, and apache doesn't like https without a certificate and thus gives that message)

There are a couple options for doing that, see this article for how to do it by editing a file: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/

Optionally if you are comfortable with it you can edit the values for "siteurl" and "home" in the database, you'll find them in the table xx_options (where xx represents the prefix you have, often wp).

Hi Anna, i have viewed article https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/ as recommended & was able to login to wp-admin & went to Administration > Settings > General & verified WordPress Address (URL) &
Site Address (URL) they were both correctly set as http://speedwayworld.x10host.com.

I then checked the database with phpmyadmin and went to wp_options & checked siteurl & home again both were set to http://speedwayworld.x10host.com.

I then entered first http://speedwayworld.x10host.com & then after speedwayworld.x10host.com into the browser both times it redirected to https://speedwayworld.x10host.com again.

Any suggestions

you only have to edit https links if they are related to your x10 website,
example: you can still have links like https://www.google.com
as long as they do not point to your x10 website.

if you installed any wordpress extensions or plugins before when you had https
you might need to check those to to make sure they use http instead.

It might be well enough if you go into wordpress admin area, go to settings->permalinks and resave those to automatically sort all images and internal links.

I have uploaded a copy of the database from the old server to the root of your account.

However, for support requests it is advised to use the forum account that is actually linked with the hosting account you want support for, this makes it easier for us to find your account as well as verify that you have the rights to that account.

Since the forum account is similar enough that I feel it reasonable that it is yours as well as the fact that the backup is uploaded to its own account I went ahead with the request this time.

For future requests, please use the forum account that is associated with your hosting, the username is bigo299x and password should be the same as you use to login on our mainpage.

You do indeed have that forum account, it was created when you set up hosting back in 2013 for support purposes, same password as for SSO page should work.

Mysql for your server was just dealt with as it was misbehaving and should now work again.

Hi Anna,

the forum account you said was created when you set up hosting back in 2013 for support purposes, same password as for SSO page should work did not work so can only now login to forum as bigo22924.

Thanks for sending the database backup that go it mostly working but my wordpress website was blank & i found my wp-config file was blank, i entered my database info (reset mysql password in directadmin) & tested.

The site then gave the original error http://speedwayworld.x10host.com/ changes to https://speedwayworld.x10host.com/ & displays a blank page with message;
"Apache is functioning normally" which i have now corrected apart from some links & images diverting https instead of http.

Many Thanks

As for images/links, try re-saving permalinks in wordpress.

Ok, if you can't get to that forum account that means you'll have to remember to always include information that allows us to look the account up, and depending on what is needed you would need to verify yourself as owner in some way (sending an email or providing information only owner would know would be possible solutions). With the backup I saw no issue with providing as I was uploading it to the account it belongs.
