mysql online in panel/ but not working

mysql status is online on my account when i log in, but the site still gives an error.

Cannot connect to DB

thru control panel i can access phpmyadmin and can access my databases, they're quite alright. and on the services down/up page it says mysql is down. this has been so for a week now. any help?

Hello, i have actually talked to Corey about this, we are looking into what could be causing this, we are not sure whether it is a MySQL error or not yet, SQL is not actually down, our firewall is now configured to block all remote requests to SQL, therefore server status scripts will show MySQL as offline.

When i find out more information about what is causing this, a staff member, hopefully me will reply to you.
