Name change / Delete account questions

I'm not exactly sure how I ended up with this username, but is there any way that I could change it?

If not, and the only way would be to delete the account and re-create it (which I'm not opposed to) would deleting the account also remove the parked domain from the x10 nameservers? I don't mind re-creating the account, but I remember trying to get my domain parked was a bit awkward as both GoDaddy and x10's systems both wanted authentication from the other in order to proceed.

I have no idea how I received my username either, and really want to change it.

I'm guessing the only way is to delete and re-create an account, but not knowing at which point usernames are generated in the signup process could lead to the same problem.

The username is made up from the first 8 characters of the domain name. There's really no option to change the username.
If you however have another forum account you can switch which account is linked to your hosting account. The option can be found through your portal at "Get Support" -> "Visit Forums".

Thank you for the quick reply! I tried that but was unable to create a separate forum account because the preferred email address was already in use.

You would need to use a different email from what you have with the hosting account (as that email is used for setting up the forum account you currently have).
