need help

im trying to connect to the database and getting access denied. i tried everything in the other posts about it. my addy is gates-0f-hell.co.cc. i createated a different user maybe i need immediate php. am trying to run dolpin and ive read in earlier posts thats its recommended

Firstly, you can request intermediate PHP in our account panel at http://x10hosting.com/login. As for MySQL, have you created a MySQL user and database in cPanel? Have you linked them both with all permissions? And if so, what username and database are you using?

yes. at first i linked user fredm with database dolphin with all permissions then i tried with user name joe.i may request immediate php later if i need it. i will wait ans see about that

Right, I think I know what's up. When you make a database/database user in cPanel, it prefixes its name with your cPanel username and an underscore. So, if you made a database and user called test and your cPanel username was mysql, it would come out as being mysql_test.

the database came out as fredm_dolphin and the two usernames came out as fredm_fred_m and joe_fredm_ i tried both combinations and the result is the same: access denied localhost@fredm

thanks for the help. you can close this post. i tried it agaig and dolphin connected to the database. it must have been a tempory glitch in the sstem or a glitch in me lol
