Wow, I'm glad the promo contest winners aren't notified by email. After entering some of the newsletter promo contests, I was wondering why I hadn't been getting the x10 newsletter. :dunno:

I checked my profile email address and found that when I changed email accounts, I updated it for my x10hosting account, but I forgot to update it here for the forum. :nuts:

Now the newsletter promo contests should be alot better. Plus I might know a little more about what is going on. If anyone could give me a copy of this months and the past two months newsletters, I would appreciate it.

FileVIP has re-opened, everything should be functional with it short of a few cosmetic things that need to be fixed. If you have some file hosting needs go over to FileVIP and upload your files! Registration is not required. If you have an x10 account store your files on FileVIP instead of your hosting account, don't risk getting suspended for file hosting. Please post on the x10 forums or Email us if you find any issues with it. (Still working out the bugs).

We've recently re-opened x10Gaming and it's in 'beta' stages. We're still figuring some things out but we currently have a few servers up that you might be interested in playing on. More Servers Up, Down, All Around


As we're sure everyone has noticed the free servers have been going up and down with issues quite a bit over the past few days. If you have not made it by the forums the reason for this is we are moving the last of our single core servers to quad core in hopes to increase our capacity for accounts while managing the same amount of servers. It takes a lot of CPU power to pack up and transfer thousands of accounts, this is what has been putting the servers under so much stress. The server migrations should be completed by the end of Sunday and everything should run better then ever. Thanks for bearing with us and being patient during this move! To make up for it I have added a contest to join in on for some prizes . Details are in the last part of the newsletter.

As everyone knows we are currently in the middle of a server restructure(Free Hosting Only!). We have made the hard decision of wiping out each server one by one and starting over with all updated software and everything optimized prior to putting accounts on! We've had a lot of upgrades this year that have played total havoc on the servers and accounts causing them to work less then optimal. For example, Apache 1.3 to Apache 2.2, multiple PHP upgrades, MySQL from 4.1 to 5.0, cPanel 10 to cPanel 11. All these upgrades have slowly caused mroe and more issues. Don't worry! All accounts will be backed up to a separate server as we perform this necessary maintenance. They will then be restored to their orginal server. One of the most requested additions to our service has always been ASP.NET support. We implemented beta support for ASP.NET a while back but was only able to have it working on a request by request basis. With the new restructure we're proud to announce that ASP.NET should be working on all accounts by default. (After your server is done).

Ruby on Rails Support


The second most requested addition has been Ruby support. Months ago cPanel released preliminary support for Ruby. With the restructuring we have decided there is no better time to implement this amazing scripting language. We hope all the members will give Ruby a try and expand their knowledge of web development languages. You should be able to find a new Ruby icon in your cPanel.

More x10 Restructure Status


We are finally almost done! I have started the last part of the restructure Monday morning. All Cossacks accounts are being mass moved back to their home server. There are still some backend changes that must be done to optimize everything. Overall we have made great progress this past week. Even though this caused downtime and other issues it will greatly benefit our service in the long run. So thank you VERY much for everyone that was affected by these changes. All the positive comments that were posted in our feedback section are greatly appreciated, it really makes all the time spent worth it.
