Hey, I'm running MediaWiki on my site and I'm running into an issue

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Now, I've looked around for solutions and it seems to be a server side issue. Specifically, with mod_security enabled on the server. Is it possible to disable mod_security or edit the rules for my account to fix this?

Post for reference: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manu...ror.2C_or_you_get_redirected_to_the_main_page

from recently reading other threads here it seems editing your .htaccess file and adding RewriteBase /
to it may resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, that's not the case with this. I tried and it didn't work. I've linked a possible solution in the OP and by tweaking the mod_security rules it should fix it. But, it doesn't seem like there are any staff members available to do that. Unlike, the other posts (similar to this) I have some reasoning behind editing mod_security. Hopefully, a staff member replies soon or I may take my site elsewhere.

There is no way mod_security is going to be disabled completely on any Free Hosting account. Nor are the rules going to be blindly waived on a wiki. You're going to have to be a whole lot more specific about the problems you're having, and will have to realize that some things simply can't be allowed on Free Hosting.

Alright, I'll take my business elsewhere then. I feel I've provided enough information to see if the rules could be tweaked for mod_security. But, seeing as there's strict limitations with free hosting here, there's no point in continuing this. Thanks for the help and have a great day.

Hi,

I have made an adjustment to your account's Mod Security configuration that should solve this problem. Please could you check whether you are still seeing this?

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thanks for the support, but I've moved on to another host. That response (from the community support member before you) made me feel like you wouldn't change the mod_security rules no matter what I said. Therefore, I decided to take my wiki and move elsewhere. But, I digress thanks for the support anyways but it seems that I've moved elsewhere for the time being. Don't take this as an insult to you or anyone in the support team here, but I feel this could of been more properly handled than how it was.

I am having the same problem and all I have is a simple forum loaded, it won't allow me to post anything is there a way to tweak it so it isn't tripping up my (or my forum members postings?)
