Hi all first off I'm Dave nice to meet you,

Now I am having an issues with php (well phpbb3) as this worked on another host (that host stopped) although when I try to access the directory of "/phpBB3/install/index.php" (no quotes) It just opens the .php file as a directory I have tried the renaming to .html trick although it dose the same, and I am lost using the same version as I did on the other host that oppend up the .php like it should do as a working page.
P.s. I have left my website at stock php that this webhost created.

Any help would be great,

Regards,

Dave~

Hi Dave,

We'll need the account for the website. You can link your forum account to your hosting account by following the instructions after logging into the account panel and selecting "Get support"

Hi Dave,
Are you installing phpBB from scratch or trying to install a phpBB forum that was held on a different server.
Are you installing phpBB files directly into the root eg, mysite.10.mx or within a directory eg mysite.10.mx/phpBB3 or whatever.

Sorry about that, when going onto meowwentthedinosaur.x10.mx/phpBB3/install/index.php I have tried meowwentthedinosaur.x10.mx/Public_html/phpBB3/install/index.php thus adding the /Public_html/

which is where it dose the same as when not using the /Public_html/

Ah, So you added the phpBB3 folder to the root not the phpBB files to the root as I see you have an active blog @ the root

I found this error
Warning: require(/home/meowwent/public_html/phpBB3/includes/startup.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Transport endpoint is not connected in /home/meowwent/public_html/phpBB3/common.php on line 19
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required './includes/startup.php' (include_path='.:/opt/php53/lib/php') in /home/meowwent/public_html/phpBB3/common.php on line 19
The above was spotted when navigating to the phpbb3 folder not bb3/install/index.php
My advice would be to delete the phpBB3 folder ... re-upload the phpBB3 folder as phpbb to the public_html directory & try again, you have already created a database entry for this? yes?

Hi,

Going of my last install on another host the install creates one for you once you type in your database info to the installer program although give me 20 mins to upload to the new folder name and ill report back.

I never use an auto installer from the cPanel to be honest & that may just be a your problem is as im sure I read something today regarding a softaculus issue but dont hold me to that, goto phpbb, download the latest package .zip, upload it via the cPanel file manager to a folder you make/add yourself within the public_html directory , upload the zip into that folder & use the extract button up on the top right to unzip it, once the filemanager has completed its job you will need to click the refresh button to update your view, you should then be left with either the unzipped files in the folder you made, so navigate in your browser to do the install as you have done somany times aready or you will end up with a folder within that folder, that will have to be moved to the public_html directory for it to work.

Hope that helps you fella
