phpBB3 Login Problem

I used the cPanel to add a phpBB3 forum, everything appears to go ok but I cannot use the administrator logon and told that I have specified an incorrect username and when trying to retrieve the logon information via email I'm told that the account/email information submitted could not be found.

Any suggestions?

reinstall without using cPanel. Problem solved.
