I attempted to access my site today and get this error: Error 503 : Service Temporarily Unavailable. Other people are also having this issue as well. Anyone know a quick resolution? I checked x10 status on free hosting and it states that they are currently up. Thanks in advance.

This doesn't look like the usual 503 from Apache. Perhaps it's custom?
I can confirm that this is a 503 HTTP response. I'm able to get a 404's if I were to request paths that don't exist so I don't know if that's supposed to override that.

Also, your site is hosted on server xo4.

What things can I try to get this fixed? Any ideas or is it out of my control?

Hi,

There is currently an issue on our free hosting servers where all visitors are recognized by the same IP address, which is the server's IP address. Therefore, your website sees different visitors as coming from the same IP address, even though they are not.

This is a problem because it looks like your website has a system that automatically blocks IP addresses. If a user connects with a blocked IP address, your website shows the custom 503 error page. However, because it appears everyone is coming from the same IP address, your script has blocked the server IP, so everyone sees the 503 error page.

Our development team is currently working on a fix for the issue with visitor IP addresses.

Thank you,

I have removed all blocked IP addresses as of now and it still gives the same error message. So is this a server issue or my issue?

Hi,

I still see the server IP address, 198.91.81.5, in several CSV files on your account, so the server IP address is probably still blocked. In any case, your website should come back online once a fix for the IP address issue has been deployed, so you don't need to unblock it if you don't mind waiting. ;)

Thank you,

all visitors are recognized by the same IP address, which is the server's IP address
my issue is $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] --> is [ 24.63.235.240 ] which is NOT a x10hosting server IP address - but is a Comcast IP address

I receive a 403 error while I have a [ allow from 98.225.64.0/18 ] (my IP address is in that CIDR) in the [ .htaccess ] file
current at URL [ whatismyip.com ] show the IP address I have had for a long time
my account is on x10hosting's free-hosting server [ xo3 ]

my point is - it is not the free-hosting server IP address but a unknown Comcast IP address that all visitors ( I assume) to my site are recognized as having
