I'm very sorry. I did not realise that proxies were not aloud - indeed, i thought it was the only way to do what I wanted to do (show some youtube content on one of my pages)

SO,please can you unsuspend?

Hello,

As per the Terms of Service to which you agreed upon signup, proxies are not allowed. Under section 8 of those terms and as per our zero tolerance policy, your account has been permanently suspended with all access revoked. You can have no further access for any reason.

Look, I'm sorry. I understand. But can an admin please send me a .zip with the site contents or something? a lot of work went into that!

I even paid for prime and everything! I'm not some random leech!

What if I paid some sort of fee?

Hello,

I'm going to consult an admin before signing this off as you are a paid customer. Please bear with us.

Again, sorry for what has happened. I realise I would be really lucky to get what I want. I've read the terms, backups are my responsibility, and that's a shame. However I also read that you keep backups without permission. Is this not against the Data Protection Act? (However, I do feel glad that you've done it at the moment).

I noticed that under section 2, for High Resources, you mention that:
Customers may be offered an option whereby x10Hosting continues hosting the website for an additional fee.

I was wondering if the same kind of thing can be offered to me?

Nowhere did I see a zero-tolerance for proxies, just that they were not allowed. I've been punished - probably lost a few customers. Now please give me a backup!

Do I need to mention that there was no specific x10Prime ToS, and therefore I am being generous even making these claims under the FREE hosting?

I repeat, please can I have a backup, or some other kind of refund / un-suspension ( on the terms that I instantly delete the /proxy URL that seemed to get me suspended in the first place).

I'm sorry, Je regrette, Lo siento. Please.

Hello,

It really is no good being legal with us. As per this page: http://x10hosting.com/prime-membership it is clear that prime is an extension of free hosting. Therefore the free hosting terms still apply.
Where did you read that we keep backups? Free hosting accounts are not backed up as far as the end user is concerned.

Quick addon to that stp, the server itself should have backups, but they're of the entire server, usable only for restoring it should the entire server in the event of failure. There's no way to restore a single account from that backup.

I figured you were probably covered but I thought it was worth a shot.

I'll leave you to reach a decision - unless, of course you already have?

PS: Section 6, System Backups:

x10Hosting retains and offers backups to the customer but does not guarantee this service from failure

Ahh, but section 8:
8. Suspensions

If an account is suspended for a breach of the terms outlined above the account holder will immediately forfeit all rights to the account in question including access to any and all files and\or databases located within the account. x10Hosting is under no obligation to provide backups in full or partial to an account holder that has been suspended.

I got a ruling from the CEO anyways; the only advice I can give after the unsuspension processes is this: You only live twice.

I know that's a James Bond movie title, but it fits well here - I'm not sure what put the CEO in such a good mood, but per his ruling I've already forcefully erased the proxy from the account. Any other violations that would normally result in a permanent suspension will stand, period.

So before doing anything else, make yourself familiar with the free hosting terms of service. As STP has pointed out, Prime is an addon to the free hosting service, and hence you still abide by the free hosting terms. There's very few suspension types that aren't permanent; of those, the two most common are High Resource Usage, and Inactivity. Virtually anything else that doesn't explicitly say it can be unsuspended will result in a permanent one instead.

Edit: I've been pointed out on IRC that this is apparently a bit of a negative reply; my intention is mostly to point out that your getting a chance when dozens of others didn't. Make the most of it.

Has anyone ever told you how much I love x10? and the CEO of x10? and you? and the fact that I have literally been revived from 6+ months of hard webdev going down the drain?

*backup to dropbox, being sent halfway across the internet*
*printing ToS*

Thankyou!
