Hello,

Since I updated my phpbb forum to version 3.1, I've been having a problem each time I try to post a threat or a topic if I include more than three urls using bbcode. The message I receive is that the page doesn't exist (error 404).

If I try to edit an old post with more than three url tags, the same thing happens; but if I add the links without using bbcode, they work fine.

Is this some free hosting limitation?

Thanks in advance.

It's a mod_security trigger: more than three links is read as "spammy" because that's usually the case.

Thank you, I suspected it was related to spam protection.
We usually use links to share files on our work group, as reference material or for tutorials.

I guess there's nothing to do about it?

Other than follow-up replies in the thread to spread the links out, not really. Things are kept pretty tight in Free Hosting because of the high potential for abuse (and the high proportion of actual abuse); it can take days or weeks to get the server(s) off of blacklists, and since most lists list by server IP address rather than domain, that means that a lot of user sites are effectively offline in the meantime. Premium doesn't have the same restrictions, and you may find it cheap enough on the three-year plan to make it work if everybody antes up so that nobody's much out of pocket (just an idea if convenience is worth money - splitting posts is cheaper, but it's also drudgery).

Hi hassliebe,

I can't find a hosting account linked to your forum account. Please could you link your accounts, by going to "Support" at the top of cPanel? I'll see if there's anything we can do about this. :)

Thank you,

Thanks, we're consideering the option of upgrading, but I wanted to know if going premium would solve this issue.

Dead-i: thank you very much. I tried to link both accounts, I hope it worked. Anyways, here is a link: http://seraphic-deviltry.tk/foro/
