Is there a way to see what people write on your reputation? Also, I don't see a feature to remove from someone's reputation, am I missing it?

lol, of course you can't remove from people's reputation. Other wise, any two people who had a private feud would be going at each other removing rep as fast as the system allowed. Or it could be 1 way too.

Concerning seeing what people write on your reputation, if it doesn't show it next the list of rep you've received, then that means they didn't write anything!

jtwhite, you're correct. We non mods do not have the "I disapprove" option.

Oh well. I guess it's for the greater good! It would be bad if two or more people got into a personal disagreement and kept removing from reputation.

Yep, it has the potential to cause a lot of troubles. However, if there is a post that inappropriate, ie. spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts, you can use Report Post option right next to the rep button and the mods will take care of it.

Yeah, I've used that many times. However, the forums here are pretty high quality. :)

The mods keep it in good shape, other wise, it would be a spam pool.

Actually, -rep is quite fun to use on spammers (used it a lot on another forum I were member on). And you won't be able to -rep a user more than once in a month per n number of posts.

I guess if that restriction were placed, then it might not be too bad. But I think things are still good the way they are right now.

After being a user for a while, you get a certain number of 'moderation points' (number depending on how long you've been a member, I guess...), where you can give a post a rating and categorize it as one of many groups (including funny, insightful, troll, etc). Those who repeatedly get a low score get penalised. Check out http://slashdot.org/moderation.shtml and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slashdot#Moderation .
