I'm recent to x10host, I had a Joomla site on another host, and I kept a backup from a moment in time with all directories and database files.
Is there a way to perform a restore in my current account?
I could share the tar.gz file on dropbox with someone at the forum that might help.

Hi dart18pt,

Welcome to x10Hosting! You can restore your files by uploading the files using FTP, and restoring the database by using phpMyAdmin's "Import" feature. :)

Thank you,

Thanks Dead-i. Ill try that, one detail, I must create a database where i can run the SQL script that was exported by the other, and I believe I must match the database name with whatever it was on the other site. Is there a file in the Joomla structure of folders where I can find the name of the database?

Hi dart18pt,

Yes, you will need to create the MySQL database before you can import the database. You should then be able to change the database name for your Joomla installation by changing the values in your "configuration.php" file. ;)

Thank you,

Not completely done...
I do not seem to get my connectio to the Db correct
I get this message, and have been trying to fix the configuration.php to point to the correct folders, users and passwords.
I may have a problem here, the variable var $password = is set to the old value I had in the other site. Should it change? to what?

Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQLDatabase Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
Thanks for the help.

GOT IT !
Went to Softaculous and looked up the parameters of the instal. The database PW was different from anything I had, so I tried it and ... worked.
Thanks anyway for the previous help, gave me the courage to try... ftp of 7000 files was scaring me a bit.
