Hi, I posted a day or two ago but still haven't figured things out.

question one... I just signed up for free webhosting a couple of days ago, and not sure my account is all the way active yet. on my account panel under 'server status' it says 'coming soon!'. Does that mean it isn't activated all the way yet?? how long does it typically take.

beyond that, I am using other software to create my webpage (rapidweaver). what am i supposed to put in the 'path' field when trying to publish my page if hosting on x10? any help is appreciated!

1. You also have to tell GoDaddy to set the DNS nameservers for jameshughes.net to

  • ns1.x10hosting.com
  • ns2.x10hosting.com

2. http://stoli dot x10hosting dot com/~jhughes/ shows that your account is set up. You should be able to logon using your cPanel username (jhughes) and password. Since the nameservers have not been changed, going to jameshughes dot net will send you to the parked pages (for up to 36 hrs after you tell GoDaddy to change the nameservers)

3. The path to your web directory is /home/jhughes/public_html . Not 100% sure if that is the path they want.

The status "coming soon" you see under server status in your account panel has nothing to do with your account specifically. It's intended to show the status of your server once it is all implemented (meaning it'll show there if the server is up or down for instance). Though currently the whole account manager panel is about to undergo some changes, I do not know what it'll be in the end though.
