Site not responding

Last week, after majorly updating my site I found that it would not load so i logged back in to try and edit it and it would not load. the sitebuilder loads about 75% and then just stays there and does not continue. I have waited in case it was a server or something but it still hasnt stopped working. today, I have completely wiped everything from the file manager and deleted the site. I then attempted to start over but even with the new website, the sitebuilder tries to load the old site and stops about 3/4 of the way through. while it would be helpful to be able to recover the site, all I need is to be able to build a new one with the same domain. Please help I have been working on this all morning and nothing is working.

ok thank you so much. I dont know what you did but it worked.
also even though it is the new site it seams to have kept my background is that normal?

i think i just did it again. i applied the backup i had made and now it wont respond again.
I think im a bit of an idiot

That's absolutely fine -- it's a known bug with the site builder software. I have re-applied the fix.
