Hi All,

I know there are ongoing issues and i'm not sure if mine match others.

Basically i use outlook smtp server to handle all the mail on my joomla site.
the last email i received was on monday and even though i know i should have had more since then. i haven't i've found records of them being sent in the form plugin i'm using but all i get from joomla is a 'smtp connect error'
is this related to all the other email issues people are having?
or something separate,
website is www.leedstemplars.org.uk
thanks in advance

Hi leedstem,

Some SMTP problems were fixed on the server you are on (XO2) as far as I am aware. Are you still experiencing these problems?

Thank you

Morning Dead-I

Unfortunately yes. Still having the same problem. Joomla is set up to go to my outlook server. Tested everything on their end and changed passwords re entered all the details for the link.
It seems to be something that is stopping the SMTP command connecting from this end.
Hope you can help.

Please post your SMTP configuration (you don't need to post the username/password, just the server/port you are trying to connect to, and what email address you are attempting to send emails from)

We block all outgoing SMTP connections on Free Hosting servers except those to "localhost" (which routes it through our own internal mail server). This is done to prevent abuse, as if enough people send spam through external SMTP servers, it could get the domain or IP blacklisted, which impacts thousands of accounts attempting to send legitimate emails.

At this time, you will need to either send mails via the PHP mail() command or by connecting SMTP to localhost (and sending it from an email address listed in your cPanel)

Hi Skizzers, I completely understand your logic behind this, however i've been using it with no issues for the amount of time the account has been live, the website is a charity scout district website and people can contact us to join through the forms which are on there which all forward through various email accounts with the URL.
Is this a recent addition because it's only happened since the servers changed over?

Thanks for your help and advice.

I am having a similar problem and I do not understand the solution. My email is support@thanksgaming.x10.mx and nothing is working. I cant even send emails from the online webmail viewer from the x10Basic Panel.

EDIT: It receives emails but it wont send them. However, it wont send replies made to an email already reveiced.
