So, how do I get my domain functioning?

I keep going to it and it tells me: Domain does not exist.

I see the domain as working, although lacking content at the moment so it only gives an "index of /" page.

Domains usually don't start working right away (though usually rather fast), there's a little bit of propagation before the whole of Internet is aware that the new page exists, and where to find it.

You might need to clear your dns cache and/or browser cache to see it properly.

I also installed WP on there, so that at least should be showing up, should it not??

All I can see is a document root directory listing showing just 'cgi-bin'. I don't think WP installed..

Where are you trying to write to (document root starts from within 'public_html' as '/')? This could be to do with permissions.

In order to access this, you would go to the cPanel file manager, press on the text next to the house icon in the left pane, and then scroll down the right pane (where the file and folder listing is), you should see 'public_html'. Once you reach it, look at the 'perms' column. What does this display?

Should be 0(755) not 0(777)? I'd always been in the habit to go with 777 on other domains. (Yes, it is 755 btw )

Tried a manual install of WP, and it shows the files there in the FTP/Cpanel section, but nothing when I load the page.

Now that's very odd. What directory is your domain pointing at?

Is it possible that you have two hosting accounts and are logging into and installing WP on the other one?
Double check the domain name on the top left side of the main cPanel screen.

IF 'permissions' set on any folder or file are [ 777 ] - that makes a large security risk - so a x10hosting's free-hosting server will throw an immediate "Access Denied" (403 error code) error to protect itself

It remains at 755 btw.
