Well, I would but I don't feel like migrating all the Wordpress files I've been working on. They're supposed to make a change if you request one here in the forum. At least, that's what a quick search resulted. I've seen others have it done. (Kinda odd there is no ticket support system? I used to be with a paid host a few years back and that was always more reliable than using a forum.)

More reliable, yes, if there is actual paid staff looking at the tickets. It's no more reliable on a free system with volunteer support staff, and it actively interferes with the ability of knowledgeable fellow users like @lylex10h to help without first getting special privileges. That makes a huge difference when the problem is something the user can do for themselves if they only knew what to do.

The difference in service level is the difference between paid and free, I'm afraid. There are only a very few people who have access to make the change you need. (Note: I am not among them.)

Touché. I understand that. I merely was surprised there wasn't actually one in place to be honest. I will tell you that I chose x10 (free) over wp-com (free) because you simply offer more of what I was used to from a couple years ago when I was actually with a paid host. That includes the wonderful cPanel and more flexibility to design. So I'm happy to be here; do not misunderstand me.

I do hope it also changes my screen name for the forum as well. Pretty sure when I came here for the url change it had automatically signed me up because I was logged into the main site at the time. Glad someone was able to confirm the change can happen though. I definitely appreciate you posting.

I hate being a nag, but should I sign up under a new account and switch my site over to the new one? Really don't want this as my permanent subdomain/username. #OCD

So many problems already. Suspended this account; left a note about why. Signed up for the new account (with a different email). Tried to make a new account on the forum with the new account. Got suspended (temporarily?) because it kept saying my password was invalid. The "new" site comes up as "this site does not exist; claim it now" even though I was logged into the account and installed wordpress on it. Good lord, wouldn't it have been easier for them just to have made the change of address for me? I have more problems now than I did when I started.

Suspended this account and the other account. Will leave notice on second account. I'm sorry but the support here is horrendous. All the other people had their url's changed in a timely manner (according to the posts). I get told to open a new account (by another user?) and go through a hassle of moving files. But then the site url doesn't work at all and is still available for claiming, and I'm left with more problems than I started with. You get what you pay for..or in this case what you don't pay for.
