Hi, I know your account can be suspended after one month of inactivity.

I was wondering firstly, WHY? What is the purpose or reasoning behind this??

Secondly, when this happens, will my website not be live anymore?

3. is logging in every month the ONLY way to keep this from happening?

4. What happens if I don't have any reason to log in for a few months? Will my account be deactivated after a certain amount of suspension time?!?!?

Thank you so much.

for #3 - yes that is the only way - unless you upgrade from a basic free-hosting account

for #2 and #4
If your account has no working website starting within the first five (5) days - OR any scripts you install are NOT up to date (Wordpress, Joomla, SMF, etc) - OR for 30 or more days you did not log-in to the Account Portal - your account will be suspended for inactivity - you can un-suspend it from within the Account Portal (AP) - but if you do NOT un-suspend it within 21 days the computer (system) will terminate it and delete ALL of its files - anytime after the 21 day delay - NO backups are made

The "30 day" inactivity restrictions do not apply to Prime, Illuminated, Premium and VPS service plans

Hi amandain,

I was wondering firstly, WHY? What is the purpose or reasoning behind this??
Since our hosting service is free, we receive some accounts that are eventually abandoned, as the account owner no longer needs their hosting account. This can become a problem, as hosting thousands of unused accounts can be very costly, and there isn't much reason for us to do so. To combat this issue, and to help keep our hosting service free for everyone, we have an inactivity policy. This policy automatically suspends accounts after a month of inactivity, which allows us to keep offering our free hosting service.

Secondly, when this happens, will my website not be live anymore?
When your account is suspended for 31 days of inactivity, your website will be temporarily taken offline until you sign in to your control panel.

3. is logging in every month the ONLY way to keep this from happening?
Yes. On our free hosting service, signing in at least once a month is the only way of declaring your account as being active. Our Prime package, and our other paid packages, remove this requirement.

4. What happens if I don't have any reason to log in for a few months? Will my account be deactivated after a certain amount of suspension time?!?!?
Your account will be suspended after 31 days of inactivity, and you can then unsuspend your account automatically. However, if no action is taken to unsuspend your account, your account will be terminated after a further 21 days. In total, 52 days of inactivity will be required before an account is terminated. You only need to sign in to your account once to declare your account as active, and you do not need to take any other actions. If you can't sign in for a certain period, perhaps you could ask a friend to log in to your account for you, or you could sign up for Prime membership.

I hope you can understand our reasoning behind the free hosting inactivity policy. Please let me know if you have any further questions. :)

Thank you,

yes - it will be suspended
and while your account is suspended
visitors to your site will see only a page (by x10hosting) that says - the account has been suspended
