coolaki,

1) Login to your hosting control panel and scroll down to the heading Databases.
2) Click the icon phpMyAdmin. A new webpage will open.
3) Scroll to more on the header and select import from the drop-down list. Follow on screen instructions.

Good luck!

I think you need to create a blank database first in order to import things.

haha, i mean that you need to create a blank database and then upload the sql file inside that database.

now the database name, username and password will change according to your new database that you had created just now. did you change those parameters on your config.php file?

see first i just installed wp and then leaved it because without installing wp even though i restore the db successfully it was not showing in the site , i had given different pass earlier , but when i imported the backup db it automatically went on to the previous username and pass.

---------- Post added at 04:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:38 AM ----------

what i was thinking that deleting everything and then again install wordpress with the same pass and username as it was earlier .?

---------- Post added at 04:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 AM ----------

and i kept the db name same as it was earlier

---------- Post added at 04:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 AM ----------

because without keeping the db name same i would not had able to resoter my db

---------- Post added at 05:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 AM ----------

ok so i deleted everything under my domain and installed the wordpress with the same db name , username and pass but still its the same www.kittenstraining.com , i can see all of my posts in the php admin under database name where i restored my db, but they are not appearing in the website, what should i do?also all the themes and plugins are gone .

You need to use the following MySQL Configuration information. Make sure this information is correct. Some of the information vary:
Hostname: localhost
Username: CPANELUSER_MYSQLUSER (your cPanel username, then an underscore, then the MySQL user you created)
Password: MYSQLPASS (the MySQL user password you created)
Database: CPANELUSER_MYSQLDB (your cPanel username, then an underscore, then the MYSQL Database Name you created)
Table Prefix: (look at the tables in your database; they might all have a prefix like wp_. Type that here)
