Unable to Access FTP Account

Hi guys i am having a problem accessing my site via FTP.

I can log into CPanel and update / delete / add files via the file manager but not via ftp.

If i use filezilla or the firefox addon fireftp i cannot gain access.

I have tried setting up a new ftp account and even resetting that password and resetting my main ftp password without out luck. It seems to just disconnect. This was working fine a few days ago but now, anytime day or night i am unable to login, all other areas of my site (on cpanel / phpadmin / mysql) etc work fine, just the ftp is an issue.

FTP Username: sandybeachit@sandybeachit.co.cc
FTP Server: ftp.sandybeachit.co.cc
FTP Server Port: 21
SFTP Server Port: 776


I am not using the SFTP Server Port and just having it set as passive.

I have attached screenshots in the attached word document. What im confused about is that the ftp was working fine before and now i am unable to login, just to double check, i have not got my settings incorrect ?

What error message do you get when you try to login to FTP?

Try using the following:
host: (Domain Name without the ftp part)
Username: (Your cPanel Username - no @domain part)
Password: your password
Port: 21

did you create FTP user "sandybeachit" in cPanel? by default FTP username is your cPanel username.

Techairlines i have done what you advised but the error i get is the pop up box asking for the username / password.

Hi Zubair hes i did create the ftp account "sandybeachit" as an experiment, but if i use that one or my default ftp details the account will not login. It simply attempts to reconnect straight away.

It connects / disconnects then tries to re-connect and goes round in circles like that.

Any ideas anyone ?

Ok fixed it, when i set the following under connection details:


Connection Type: Passive
Security: None

I logged into FTP straight away no problems, have disconnected and reconnected multiple times without issue.
