Hello,
I had been in the hospital for the last 4 weeks and I just got home and seem unable to access my hosting account.

Username was: mindabsence

It was a free account under which I was working on a large project for a client. Can you let me know why everything is inaccessible? This is a potential $50k deal for me and the client was patient enough to hold out for me while I was hospitalized unexpectedly. Please let me know when I will be able to access the website again. If I can at least pull a backup of everything, I can switch it over to one of your paid accounts if it means better security.

mindabsence can't be the cPanel (hosting) account name, as that is limited to 8 chars.

By the look of things it might have been deleted due to inactivity as there's no hosting account associated with your forum account at this time.

Paid accounts are always better security, as they do have periodic updates and more importantly they do not have a requirement to login here at the forums to keep it active.

To be able to find out for sure what has happened we need your cPanel name.

whoops
the cpanel user was "mindab"

Can I at least get a backup copy of all my work made available? This was a huge business deal for me, and the unexpected delay couldn't have been planned for.

I checked the logs, and the account were terminated on November 5th after being suspended for more then 10 days.

Data is not retrievable if an account was terminated.

So you're telling me you keep absolutely no server replication?

I will have to talk with my companies lawyer about this as I feel it's unfair practise to simply banish all the work I was doing for my client due to the fact I wasn't able to log in from the hospital bed. I know you have backups somewhere, all I'm asking for is my work

This policy is well posted when you sign up. It also states that you are responsible for your own backups. Additionally, X10 cannot be held liable for any incidental damages related to it's hosting in any instance. If we had a backup, we would give it to you. X10's rules are not to punish you, but if no inactive account was ever suspended, we'd have gigabytes of wasted space and bandwidth.

Sorry for your loss.

well x10 has a TOS that you agreed to abide by when you signed up for free hosting.
7. Inactivity
Accounts found to be inactive are suspended for a 10-day period and then terminated. All data including any type of backup or stored information is removed with the account. To prevent an account from being suspended for inactivity it is required users visit the x10Hosting forums located at http://forums.x10hosting.com at least once every 31 days. Accounts must also have a working website within one week.

and you had a close friend or relative or a trusted colleague from you company to sign into the forum account to keep it from going into inactivity.

This is also taken from the TOS you agreed to on sign-up:
TOS said:
6. System Backups
Backups are the sole responsibility of the customer. x10Hosting retains and offers backups to the customer but does not guarantee this service from failure. It is recommended all customers keep their own backups.
