Hello All,

I am having an issue with adding a domain to my site. The problem is that I screwed the process up somewhere along the line, but not sure where.

Under the "Domains Page" the only domain visible is the one that I chose when I signed up with x10hosting. When I try to add a one of my domains, I get this error:

"Unable to add the domain name − (XID vpwr2v) A DNS entry for “mydomain.org” already exists. You must remove this DNS entry from all servers in the DNS cluster to proceed".

I believe this is above my access capability to fix, and for the most part, my pay grade to fix. I've spent most of the day working on this to no avail.

If more information is needed, please ask.

Thank you in advance.

Since there are no replies from anyone, I suppose I am on my own with this one. I pulled all my files from the server and I hit the button to delete my account in an attempt to start over from scratch. Once the 72 hour grace period is over, I'll sign up again and try to park my domain and upload my files, paying closer attention to what I am doing and what I may have done wrong so it doesn't happen again. I hope it works out for the better!

Walcoare, you must remember that support is by volunteers on x10 Freepages and you must wait for one who has knowledge of your problem to log onto the forum. Since your problem occurred on a weekend day, it is highly probable that the volunteers were having a life of their own.

Completely understood kenny9. For a free service, I didn't expect an answer from anyone right away, but figured a more experienced user might have some insight into my problem. I am usually quite self-sufficient in problem solving, but this one has got me. I guess I am too impatient for the right person to come along and I am sorry if that causes any issues with anyone. I have moved everything away from Lycos and their "customer service" so maybe I'm still a bit frustrated from that and I apologize.

The error usually means someone needs to manually clear the doamain from the system, there's two ways it could have gotten stuck 1. an attempt to add it failed but still left some traces on parts of the system or 2. it has been in use on our service before and was not properly removed.

We would actually need to know the domain name before we are able to do something about it.

Depending on how deep the issue goes I may or may not be able to fully sort it out, I only have limited access, but should be able to point someone with proper access to the thread once we know wich domain it regards.

Hi Anna, thank you for your reply. The domain name is walworthcountyaresraces.org

I am thinking that it is scenario #1 in your response, but could be wrong.

EDIT - The deletion of the old account went through and I signed up again. I was able to park my domain with no issues. Case closed.

Thanks to all that helped!
