I read that my account must be open for 7 days before my disk space is unmetered. I am trying to transfer my domain from another host, but can't upload my joomla files with the current limit. When is the earliest I can get the space needed to upload my site?

Hi,

Sorry, but your account is 2 days old. Please let me know when it is 7 days old, and I can see if it qualifies for unmetered disk space. In the meantime, I recommend uploading a partial copy of your website (since it is rare that websites themselves exceed 512MB in space).

Thank you,

Thanks for the response. I did see the seven day wait, was hoping if I asked, we could expedite it. I've uploaded some of the audio files already so that we meet that parameter. It's for a local church and we're switching hosts. I downloaded the joomla back up and the file is about 4 gigs to upload, so I'm left in a holding pattern until you're able to open that up. If I need to wait until Monday, so be it, but that's where I'm at.

I am past the 7 day mark, is there something more I need to do to qualify to be able to set up my website here?

Hi,

Thanks for waiting. One last thing would be that you would need to be using at least 50% of your current disk space limit, so you would need at least 256MB of files hosted.

However, I took a look at the other thread you created, and saw you were uploading some large audio files. Even with unmetered disk space, we impose a 10MB limit on individual files, and files that exceed this limit get automatically deleted. Unfortunately I can't circumvent these restrictions, since they help to prevent very common types of abuse (for example, there have been situations in the past where people have simply signed up and started using our web hosting service for their own video storage). If these audio files do exceed 10MB each, a solution here might be to upload them elsewhere (such as on a file hosting provider), and then link to them from your x10Hosting website.

Thank you,

Thanks for the feedback. I eliminated the audio files for now (they are sermons from the church, I might be able to get things set up differently so that they're hosted elsewhere) and am uploading the current back up minus those files. I'm hoping I'll be able to extract the backup and restore the site in that condition so that we can move forward from here. I look forward to hearing from you to see if there's something else I'll need to try or you find that I've qualified. Thanks!
