I currently have a DNS error, so any url other than my pain page directs people back to my main page...One of my links on one of my pages begins with the full URL of the page, so it redirected back to the main page...I went in on the 21st, 6 full days ago, and corrected the url to the short version, but while my public_html folder shows the change in the page in question, when I go to my page, and view the ling in my browser, still shows the old url...they say it takes up to 72 hours to take effect, but it's been something like 144 hours and it's still not showing the new page....hope I said that clearly....

can you at least post the link to your website ?
it would be easier to help figure out what your asking.

DNS does not effect folders of your website.
either DNS works or it doesnt, and if people get your main page its working.
so there is nothing to propagate.

My website is stanleythorntonbooks.x10hosting.com...My domain is stanleythorntonbooks.com if I use my domain with anything extra, like /pictures...it ignores everything after .com and takes me to my main page...I have a link at the bottom of this page - http://stanleythorntonbooks.x10host.com/WOW/wow.htm I changed it to a short direct of alfar/alfar01.htm, but if you mouse over the link, it still says stanleythorntonbooks.com/WOW/alfar/alfar01.htm...Of course, I'm still trying to get my page to show up as my Domain, but for now I'm just trying to make it work here...

the url is strange, http://stanleythorntonbooks.x10host.com
i mean that it is x10host.com and is not x10hosting.com
(like your missing the "ing" on the end)

even though i could click your links on your main page and they all work.
i could even open up one of your images in your picture folder.
example http://stanleythorntonbooks.x10host.com/pictures/image.jpg
(image used for your privacy for the picture in reference)
but trying to backtrack the link to http://stanleythorntonbooks.x10host.com/pictures/
i get the error likely because you dont allow folder indexing.
meaning the content is hidden unless you know the file name.

i would check to make sure your using the right host/domain name.
just to be certain.

He is using the right domain, we haven't been giving out x10hosting.com addresses for several years, but we do among the options have x10host.com

When I go into the server and view the code for that specific file, it does currently have the .com as part of the link, how and where were you editing it?

If you are editing locally and upload by ftp are you using the correct ftp host, you are on a new server with a new address so if you have the client set to use xo#.x10hosting.com you'd be uploading to the old server and not the one your site is currently on.

as for the .com domain, right now it appears to not be pointing to our network at all.
