account panel reports PHP level at '5.2.8 Version 1 - Basic'. Documentation says all free accounts are set to PHP V2 by default. Can I get mine upgraded or is there simply a disparity between the meanings between the documentation and account panel versions?

The account panel is not correct.
All free accounts have the same version of PHP with the same restrictions (for security and resource management).

cpanel always show correct php version
The ACTUAL version of PHP yes, but x10 used to have "Php levels", which was Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced... Which all had some security enhancements of their own... Basically being that Advanced was the most "unlocked" and allowed more to be done using php... such as uploading of files through php instead of file manager.

But yes, I do believe now that every free user in x10 has the same php level (Intermediate... aka 2)

You are correct, all users have what is equal to intermediate (minus a thing or two if I remember correctly).

I can not tell if the use of different levels will be put back in when the upgrades are completed, but I'm sure that account panel will show the correct information when they are.
