Hello! First time posting on here I think.

So, I got a domain for my site through Google for like $15/year. I'm looking to use GMail for me and my coworkers, however in order to do so I need to use Google's nameservers for the domain.

But if I use their nameservers I can't access my site with the domain I bought through them.

So I basically need to somehow keep their nameservers, but have their domain point to my site. Not redirect.

How can I do this exactly? Has anybody else tried anything similar?

Let me know what I should do. :( Thank you.

The nameserver verification in cPanel is so that it can be further proven that you have ownership of a domain. You can change the nameservers back to Google after successfully verifying with the X10 nameservers.

But when I try changing the nameservers to Google's, the site goes offline? Unless it takes a certain amount of time for the changes to take effect.

It might in a way do so if you don't have the required records for the site set up on your registrar ready for importing to X10's nameservers for a bit.

DNS record-related alterations can take seconds to minutes to hours to propagate. Last time I tried, it was only a few minutes for what you are wanting to do.
What I did in my case was to add a sub-domain I created manually on the registrar, change the nameservers, add it as an add-on domain (not parked domain which it should have been) and then finally changed the nameservers back to what it was on the registrar.

Note that if someone had already visited the site on their device shortly before it goes down then they should be able to visit it normally for a bit as a result of DNS caching on their device or/and ISP.

If you want to track the progress of the DNS propagation: https://www.whatsmydns.net

Also make sure that you have a proper A record set up at google, without that the domain will not point correctly after you change the nameservers back.
