First phone call of the day is a prospective client looking for me to build them a website that contains 'Adult' material. Can anybody suggest a hosting provider that allows this ? Preferably without wanting me to pay for a dedicated server.

Could check the TOS/AUP over at x10premium.com, cause I'm biased. If memory serves (DOUBLE CHECK ME AS I HAVEN'T CHECKED THAT PART OF THE TOS RECENTLY), the adult material provision isn't present in the TOS or the AUP for the premium services.

I do use premium but that's the one section of the terms I didn't bother looking for cause it wasn't in my list of ideas :p

Thanks LW will have a rummage through the small print.

Personally I loath doing this type of site because the clients always whine about the SEO,
page/ site ranking and lack of AD revenue. Though it is funny to see the dates on the
model release forms, some of the 'Teens' are now older than my mother an I'm 40+ lol!.

The TOS giveth and the AUP taketh away. Blessed be the name of the AUP.

You may not publish or transmit via x10Hosting's service any content that x10Hosting reasonably believes:

- constitutes pornography;

You can always take a boo at BlueGravity. I've never had occasion to go shopping in that market, but I know they've been around for quite a while, so they must be doing something right.

And if you do find a US host, you'll want to make sure that you're covered as far as IRCA labeling and USC 2257 goes. Your client may opt to remove things, but you do not want the breeze blowing upon your own private toches.

Does if it's against the TOS/AUP of said hosting provider.

I considered a santrex account. I wasn't looking to see specifically if no porn, but I think they allow wide arena of content cheaply. If you do dig, lemme know either way.
