Hi, I'm new here and I'm thinking about purchasing a vBulletin license.
However, I'm quite new to hosting a forum on it's own (I've only ever used free forum hosting, the one click ones OR I've installed SMF on my pc.) but I'm sure I will be able to set it up with ease, just a few questions lurking on my mind.
This means I have never bought VB and used it on an online web host so I would like to know if x10 can provide me with this service free.
Also a few more questions, are there any drawbacks of using x10 as compared to a paid web host?
Do I only need 1 mysql server? What do they do?
Are there any hidden terms & conditions like some other sites who can just delete your website or can take your data/credit of the forum?
How long can I keep my account for? Will it be likely that my forum will be deleted without notice? I saw a few threads of x10 staff deleting vb forums as they are null versions (or thought they were,) what if they deleted my forum and all my data/members/threads are lost? Please note the forum will not contain any pornography, illegal activities or breach any copyright laws of some sort etc;
How many active max connections can I have for my VB forum?

edit;
Are there any users who can post their VB forum hosted with x10 so I can take a look at it?

Thanks.
Looking forward to hosting with x10.

If you are not breaking TOS you will be fine...

unlimited active connections are allowed
You have 10 GB monthly bandwidth in your free account..

If you have a good running forums like x10hosting forums.. then you need to purchase VPS

The accounts that were deleted were given 10 days to contest the charge of nulled scripts. They do not just delete accounts.

You should make periodic backups of all files and databases. Servers crash, fires and floods destroy buildings, etc. Keep the backups on your computer and maybe in a gmail/hotmail account. Keeping your backups on x10hosting does not provide protection.

thanks for the quick reply,
i would also like to ask, how much would the 10gb roughly handle (in terms of active users, how many regular posts per day)
would i be able to upgrade and easily move my forum if i purchase a VPS server?

does the web hosts only need to have 1 MYSQL server to run vb?
i dont really understand what mysql actually is

thanks.

10gb of bandwith will be more than enough.

MySQL is a database server used for storing information to be called upon from a script outside the database.

You will be fine to install vBulletin on x10 as long as it's legal, there will be no issues.
