HTML:
Couldn't access my site today: exl.x10host.com
---
Error 118 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.
---

So I thought I'd log into the x10hosting portal and find out if anything was wrong.

According to the portal my account status seemed fine, but when I tried to access cPanel it didn't respond (it timed out too): https://vox.x10hosting.com:2083/login/?login_theme=cpanel

Quickly tried pinged the server from my machine and got no responses:

---
ping exl.x10host.com
PING exl.x10host.com (198.91.81.4): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2

ping vox.x10hosting.com
PING vox.x10hosting.com (198.91.81.4): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
Request timeout for icmp_seq 3
---

I had a look at the last few threads and it seems some people have had their IP address blocked by your firewall, so maybe that's happening for me too (using network-tools.com I was able to verify that the server apparently does respond to ping from another location).

Hope someone can help with this matter and thanks in advanced.

(PS: For some reason upon submitting a post, it strips out all newlines and merges every line together - making it very hard to read. So I used the |html| BB tags to make it readable again.)

This is obviously happening to a lot of people, and no one seems to care. Ive contacted X10 directly and was basically told if i wasnt a paying member to piss off.

My site has been down for days, with no interest by X10 in fixing it, my advice is to find a host that does care, and even though its on a free service, show some support for those of us that have spent a lot of time building a forum just to have it shut down, with no real concern at all by X10

We do care - the firewalls are only in place to stop users' accounts being compromised. The firewall detects a large amount of failed cPanel login attempts, and various other circumstances. Without the firewall, compromise of user accounts would be MUCH more frequent. I have replied to your forum post on the issue, and that reply was sent under 24 hours after your post. Considering the free hosting side of x10Hosting is run purely by volunteers, I personally would not call that poor service.

Ive contacted X10 directly and was basically told if i wasnt a paying member to piss off.
The forums are the best way to receive support. I'm not quite sure how or who you contacted, but this is the only primary way to receive support (other than our Live Chat IRC service). If you were told something even vaguely along the lines of this (I seriously honestly doubt ANY part of x10 would be as rude as you made out) then chances are you contacted the Premium department on the issue, which handles Premium/VPS services support only. When creating a support request on these forums, please be patient, since the volunteers that help run x10Hosting have lives too and might not be able to get to your request immediately.

My site has been down for days
If this is indeed a firewall related issue, only your internet connection would be unable to access your site. Firewalls block individual users, not an entire site. Therefore, it would be up for everyone else apart from you. I understand that you are experiencing issues with the firewall, and we hope to get your issue fixed as soon as possible.

with no interest by X10 in fixing it
I have been dealing with this issue with you in a separate topic - I wouldn't call this "no interest".

I'm sorry if I have appeared blunt in my above response, I just felt like something needed to be cleared :)

Hi luck31,

We made a change to the firewall yesterday - are you able to access your site now? I'm not seeing you're IP address in the firewall :)

Thanks
