Having reviewed several Proxy Server repo's for ubuntu I am not entirely sure I found what I was looking for.
I want to install a 'Proxy Server' that will only allow access via username / password and can only be used for specific port sets.
I want our admins team to be able to use the proxy when visiting our IRC, using IM software or any other related tasks.
Squid might be what I have been looking for but I was unable to find documentation related to usernames and passwords, authenticated use.
I think this function to be vital otherwise our service will likely be abused / leeched from and our 'IP' would be associated with who knows what behaviour...
If you have a similar setup installed, be it squid or a different app please consider assisting me with a few pointers.
Respetfully,
MattG
