You need to have your imagination poked in the right dirction.
Whenever I've needed an idea for a site I go trawling for sites with similar subject, theme, business or whatever. I don't copy designs I find, but the tour always leads to an idea.

I was just checking out Google Sites, and they have some awesome templates that are very basic. Their concept is to make a website that can be accessed and edited by any number of people you choose. It would make a great club site, or family site. I don't use them because they limit you to their template and my site is already created, but if you're just starting, check them out.

A site idea...you want to make money like I always do???
Here is one idea...try getting yourself a liscense to open a gas station...offering free gas. The thing is, you can only get gas there, if people go on your site, and pay to shoot paintballs at your car, from their own computer...
.....I tried this, and according to laws in NJ, gas stations have a no flying zone. : (
....want something I have not tried yet....??
Make a website where people donate money to pay for another persons mortgage...the person who wants their mortgage paid...would send you the mail/mortgage...and you choose if it is good...
then what you do is, post the donation request for that mortgage....the only way to get your mortgage listed on the site is of course donate money...(you take a % from the total donations... HAHAHA...I love making money)...and then you also help a person pay for their mortgage...
