No that is not normal, but the slowness might be caused by us restoring backups for users that has lost files, though in most cases that should only last about 5 minutes if that is the case.
Your site loaded fine and fast for me at this time.
500 errors are thrown when the execution time exceeds 60 seconds, the process is killed at that point.
