Peace of ****, overhyped, waste of time, driving from point A to point B, just another GTA, with pointless effects added on. They focused on too many neat things that aren't a necessity of Gta (i.e. TV, computer, getting 5 stars attempting to watch child porn etc.), instead of working on the whole point of GTA. I do not know how people are saying it's the best game of all time. I mean, don't get me wrong, the games GREAT. It's just not that GREAT!

Thats pretty much it in a nutshell. I thought it was going to rock until I played it on the 360... The learning curve on that game is like .5 hour to an hour... Its not worth it. I'd rather buy CoD4 or Gears 2.

I never liked any of the GTA games but I bought this one because of all the hype and perfect 10's.. I do like the game but from what I've seen of the other GTAs its basically the same thing. It doesn't seem like they really added anything really new or innovative for it to be worth a 10.

The in gameplay graphics are ok but the cgi looks horrible and why is the city so damn big but you can only go into a few buildings, they should have focused more on letting people go into different buildings and that.

The multiplayer is fun but it gets stale after awhile and the mellee is just broken as can be it just is not worth even using, but the cover system is a nice welcome but aren't they alittle late in the gaming scene to implement a cover system i mean almost every game with guns has one.

Another one of my problems with this game is that Rockstar seemed to be in a rush to release it. There are so many glitches and things that could have been fixed before the release... But looks like they got too excited with how much space they could put on a DVD compared to that of a game CD...

Those games are for 10 year olds seriously

well actually its rated M 17+ so if your younger than that you cant play it but some parents will ignore the sign and wonder why their kids become all violent etc,

So, is it worth buying or not?

I played GTA 3 and found that was okay and worth playing once. But after I crushed every single gang in the main city there wasn't much to do.

Is the plot of the new game any better, more detailed or longer? And are there more gangs wars and etc.?

GTA has the same format throughout its games.
If you like doing the same type of stuff then go buy it, if you got a bit bored playing the previous games then don't buy it.
I'm waiting for my cash to build up then i shall buy a PS3 with MGS4 and maybe GTA4.

GTA IV is GTA at it's best. Nothing revolutionary, just evolutionary. I'm enjoying it so far.

meh i have to disagree, physical age has little to do with maturity imho, the kids who have parents who would do that have other issues to wory about then just the video games. its the partents overall
back on topic
i havnt played gta4 myself but ive heard heard much about it and the little i have is mixed but overall bad
i did like gta vice city and san andreas (never plyaed it myself but my friends played it ALOT and i would watch them play), grand theft auto itself however is quite an old game released for pc, playstateion and gameboy color in like 1997 its not surprising that the sequels are starting to be a stretch
p.s. the original gta and gtaII are available for free download from rockstar's website

I cant see it being worth gettin for console, but the PC version when it hits the street, now ill be getting that... purely down to the fact that on PC GTA is one of the most moddable, and editable games going.

I do not acctually have a PS3 or 360 as im more of a PC gamer, with a £1200 PC i dont see very much point going spending more on a console, as i like all thos PC games, i.e Crysis completed it in 2 days but it was fun.

As for the GTA games i have played all on the PC since the first 2D GTA and will stick to PC, GTA4(when out on PC) im sure like San Andreas and Vice City etc will become hacked and be made moddable by those modders out in the big bad world. Which makes it more exciting to play as Rockstar Games dont pay enough attention to what vehicles are in the game but in GTA4 there is, in my oppinion too much extras.

I agree with wiileg3nd with this statement:

Cheers, long live PC gamers :thefinger

lol, sorry didn't know it was against the rules, I thought filter bypassing was. Won't happen again.

Anyway, I do say PC gaming is the best gaming of all. The reason why I got a wii is because it's the system that has the most exclusives, and if you don't like mario then you should plainly go kill yourself. I must agree, there are many mario games that can get boring, but if you are going to hate games like Galaxy, Mario Kart etc. (excluding the opinion that it's not your type of game) then you have something wrong. PC gaming has more controls, for any type of gamer, has more users online, better mods, better graphics, better voice chatting and easier to have clan interactions. Here's how a see things.

PC - Read above.
Wii- Mario fans, packed with exclusives, family, people who are tired of the old controls
360- A dumbed down PC, worse graphics, same games, expensive online for a worse online than PC.
Ps3- Beautiful graphics, decent controls, has mostly every game 360 has, okay online but at least it's free.

On the topic of GTAIV, you'll get the same experience from any other GTA game(well, possibly a better one than 1 and 2). If you like the mods people make, wait for the PC release. Don't waste your money. I am inferring the online experience will be fantastic for PC, and hopefully less buggy.

GTA has certainly taking a huge step from GTA2.

Blech, Never played GTA, but it seems kind of funny haha. I just watched it played many many times and I heard it's the same gameplay but graphics are stepped up to another level.
