I don't actually have one at the moment, and probably never will again. I have a degenerative neurological disorder that's keeping me out of the workforce (though I'm trying to do some entrepreneurial stuff that will generate a bit of income without requiring a full-time level of effort — programming when I can, photography, design, writing, ...).

I have been, professionally, over the course of an admittedly odd life, a labourer, Air Force electronics technologist, jazz musician, fine artist, graphic and pre-press artist, photographer, college maths/electrical engineering instructor, technical writer, cabinetmaker, shoemaker, addictions counsellor, and software developer/engineer. Usually more than one of those at a time; only the developer/engineer thing ate all of my waking hours. Most of the hard-core developers I know have a little bit of trouble with the work/life balance thing, and I was no exception. (I was almost happy about my first stroke; it was the first "vacation" I'd had in years.)

These days I mostly meddle in other people's business, and spend far too much time correcting people who are wrong on the internet.

I don't get paid for it, but I do voluntary work in an office as an office assistant.

Don't worry, Firespot—some day you, too, will be old and full of "wisdom" to share with people who may not actually need to hear what you insist on saying anyway.

I work as an IT Consultant. I'd say I'm doing pretty well.

I run a mobile marketing company, that I have hosted here at x10hosting.com http://texagram.com

It's promoted by affiliates, so I don't really do much work : ) ...just wait and collect, no hiring people, no office needed, just my computer and x10hostings service.
Used to run a construction company, and still do an extent part-time.
