The ad-free plan, which is what you get when signing up is 500mb.

To get bigger space, you need to place ads and request upgrade to an ad-enhanced plan.

Ad-enhanced advanced is on 1 gb, and ad-enhanced corporate is at 2.5 gb

what is add enhanced plan

Originally x10hosting had a separate set of plans during signup, Advanced and Corporate, which required ads to be displayed, but they had more disk space and whatnot.

Due to a ton of users signing up for those then never displaying the ads, x10's changed how they handle ad-enhanced plans - you sign up for ad-free first. You can still get the ad-enhanced plan by logging into the account panel: http://x10hosting.com/panel.php and getting the advertisement codes from there and placing them on your Web site.

Once you've got the ads displayed on all pages of your website, post in the Free Hosting section with a note that it needs to be escalated into a support ticket, and one of our users will get it escalated to staff so the plan can be upgraded to either Advanced or Corporate for you :)

Can anyone comment on the salience of the adds which must be placed for the add-enhanced package?
Are they annoying for the web designer or fairly benign? I may have to switch to them to upgrade at some stage, so any info would be appreciated. And how much space do you get with that package?

if you go for corporate ads (which is the one that gives the most resorces), it's an banner that needs to be placed so it is viewable without scrolling (in other words near the top of the page) I believe the banner is 468x60 px in dimensions, if I'm wrong about that please correct it.

The advanced ad-code is a text-link that can be placed anywhere on the page

In both cases they must be on every page of your site.

You are correct Anna.

The ads are not that intrusive, you get no pop-ups, no flashy screens, simply the text link or the banner.
