Why is my disk usage reading so inflated?

As you can see from the above screenshot, my middle section disk usage reading shows 288.45 about half of my threshold. On the right side tab, disk usage is highly inflated it shows 418.9 MB. That change happened after I tried to download my public_html.zip file. Please help

There can be several reasons with wordpress. auto updates, backup, and cache files. The zip file itself is stored somewhere. If you delete the zip file and empty your trash can, it will take a while before change is reflected in usage.

The information to the right reflects the overall usage, across all folders (including mail and database), while the information you see listed next to the domain is what is stored in the folders for that domain specifically (most usually is in public_html in that case).
Likely the .zip of your public_html is stored outside of the domain folder during the process. If it is no longer in your account the usage will reflect that, the stats part is not instantaneously updated however.
