Why is my server down again?! I know that if you sign up for a free account that this type of stuff can happen but it happens all of the time!!! Everynight!!! and now during the day!!! If you want people to buy your product, then the free sample should be excellent.

Hi, it's not a sample; it's free hosting and there aren't many GOOD free web hosting providers, the staff try to sort out the problems when there's an issue and they work hard. So, please just be patient. If you would like a better plan, then you should consider upgrading.

I did not mean to sound mean or unappreciative. I guess it's just frustration. I have limited time to work on my site, as I'm sure most people do. So it's frustrating to try to access my site and find that it's down. You are right, there are not many good free hosting sites. And honestly, this is one of the better ones. It would be nice to get some sort of update on what the issue is or what the status is.

Yes, there are currently certain database issues on Vox. We're aware of the problem and it is being worked on as we speak.

The free hosting offered by x10 isn't really an example of what it is like on x10's premium services. The free hosting service is not a free trial or anything similar of the paid hosting x10 offers. Compared to x10Premium, free hosting servers have hundreds more users and are placed under a lot of abuse compared to x10Premium. In general free hosting attracts abusers like a magnet, and our staff team try our best to keep abuse to a minimum on all of our hosting services. However, due to the nature of free hosting and, well, the fact that it is free, makes it much more difficult.

Thank you for the quick response. I have one other quick question. I have been wanting to install FFMPEG on my site but according to some documentation it has to be installed on a dedicated server. Do you know if it is possible for me to install it on my site with shared hosting?

I'm afraid you would need a VPS Package for that.

It would not be possible as it would have to be installed as a service on the actual server, you could do it on a VPS technically, but as I heard it is rather resource intensive so a dedicated server is probably best to ensure smooth functionality.
