Windows XP vs Windows Vista

i would prefer window xp for performance, window vista for it's appearance...

Well, if anyone's having problems using Vista because of its high hardware requirements, linux is surely a system worth trying.
I have 3 operating systems installed on my PC: Windows XP, and two linux distributions: Mandriva and Ubuntu. The Mandriva version I have is bugged a bit but I love Ubuntu (aka "Hardy Heron"). There are many distributions available thet will run on older hadware too so you can install one that you like most. Linux looks cool too! -> sample :squintdan

The only major problem with linux are games. There are some games for linux but so far Window's the best platform for gamers.

I think people are way too biased regarding Vista. It's a pretty decent OS, it's more secure than XP but it's stability may be on par or less than XP, that's true. And of course it needs a bit more RAM than XP, so if your business or PC is running XP no worries, there ain't too much reason to switch to Vista. Wait until Windows 7 - no doubt many people are.
