won't let me open control panel

it lets me log into my account panel, but not onto my control panel.
desperately need to edit stuff on my website www.mothsfilm.com

are you going here...

also make sure you are using your cpanel username and password...

forums username and password will not work on cpanel.

Yes I am using that link.
It wont let me get to the stage to log in with my cpanel password.
the page just continues to load, and then says error.
have tried this on different days, and different computers....

Probably your ISP is blocking port 2082... thats why the error occur.

ISPs usually don't block the port, however many schools/workplaces does (basically often they block all ports the students/employees don't need to do the job).

if this is the cause in your case it might work using: http://cpanel.mothsfilm.exofire.net as the address to cPanel. Note there's no port appended and there should not be in that case, it's forwarded server side.

But if i've tried it on different computers with different wifi's, and i've used it on these computers before- then what's the problem? I need to sort it out asap as urgently need to change some text..

Have you tried clearing browser cache/flushing dns cache?

I can reach the login page just fine from my end as well.
