Hello,

I am trying to add a new website to my X10Hosting account. I am using the "Software Installer" and trying to install wordpress. I am getting the following error: "The installation package could not be found!" after clicking "Add Website & Install Software". What should I do to resolve this problem?

Thank you,
Adam

NB: You will have to create a MySQL database and user first.

Using cPanel
If your hosting provider supplies the cPanel hosting control panel, you may follow these simple instructions to create your WordPress username and database. A more complete set of instructions for using cPanel to create the database and user can be found in Using cPanel.

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Click MySQL Database Wizard icon under the Databases section.
  3. In Step 1. Create a Database enter the database name and click Next Step.
  4. In Step 2. Create Database Users enter the database user name and the password. Make sure to use a strong password. Click Create User.
  5. In Step 3. Add User to Database click the All Privileges checkbox and click Next Step.
  6. In Step 4. Complete the task note the database name and user. Write down the values of hostname, username, databasename, and the password you chose. (Note that hostname will usually be localhost.)

Try installing it manually. First, download the zip file. Upload it to CPanel, extract it in your root directory or a sub-folder. Then, go to: www.yourdomain.com/ or www.yourdomain.com/subdirectory , you'll then be redirected to the install page. Just follow it through and you will have installed WordPress Manually.

Hello Adam,

Thank you very much for reporting this issue. This is occurring on the x10 Basic theme. I've passed on the issue and it will be looked at soon.

In the meantime, if you don't wish to do it the manual way as @usama_rasab27 suggested, you can still use an Automatic Software installer to do this. In the top right corner, please use the appropriate button to switch to the cPanel x3 theme, instead of the x10Hosting Basic theme. Once you are on the cPanel x3 theme, you should see a series of icons. Please select Softaculous, select WordPress, and follow the wizard from there. Softaculous will create the database for you, so you don't have to worry about that bit ;)
